Cindy Hedland

Recruiting Coordinator and Development | 18s girls Assistant Coach

Cindy is a proud Point West Volleyball Club alumna who spent four years developing as both a player and leader within the program. She returned to Point West to give back to the club that helped shape her, and she is passionate about helping athletes reach their full potential both on and off the court. Cindy believes that one of the most rewarding parts of coaching is watching players grow in confidence, develop a love for the game, and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach.

In 2026, Cindy was named the Recruiting Coordinator for both the boys and girls programs. She is committed to helping student-athletes navigate the college recruiting process by providing guidance, education, and support as they pursue opportunities to continue their volleyball careers at the next level.

As a player, Cindy competed at Moorpark High School before playing four seasons with Point West. She continued her career at Moorpark College, where she earned First Team and Second Team All-Conference honors, was named Team MVP, received the Character Champion Award, and was recognized as a two-time Scholar-Athlete. She later earned a full-ride scholarship to NCAA Division II New Mexico Highlands University, where she continued to excel both academically and athletically, earning Dean’s List, Scholar-Athlete honors, and Summa Cum Laude.

Cindy began coaching while she was a freshman in college, serving as an assistant coach for the Point West 16-1 team for two seasons while also leading the club’s 14s team. Since then, she has coached athletes across multiple age groups, serving as both an assistant and head coach for 15s, 16s, 17s, and 18s teams. Her experience has allowed her to mentor players through every stage of their development.

In addition to her club coaching, Cindy joined the Royal High School volleyball program in 2019. She has served as the Freshman coach, Junior Varsity coach, and Varsity Assistant, and currently oversees the program’s strength and conditioning while continuing to support all levels of the program. Outside of volleyball, Cindy is a teacher at Hillside Middle School, where she brings the same passion for mentorship and leadership into the classroom that she brings to the court. Cindy is married to 118 VBC director Aaron Hedland, and has two amazing children.
