Danny Rodrick joins the Point West family as a Co-Director and coach of 118 Boys Club. A well-known coach in Ventura County, Danny brings years of experience as boys and girls coach and has also served as developer of local boys club programs in the area. He also has been a Gold Medal Squared Camp travel coach for 6 years. Danny coached local high school programs at Newbury Park HS and Moorpark HS, where he returned as the head coach for both the head boys and girls programs and as an assistant at Moorpark College.
Danny attended Kapaa High School in Kapaa, Hawai’i where he lettered all four years in volleyball. He also earned Player of the Year honors in 2005 and was a first team Kauai Interscholastic Federation selection in 2005 and 2006. He helped the Warriors to the Div. II state championship in 2005. He graduated from Kapa’a High School in 2007 where he was a four sport varsity athlete – setter for three years in volleyball, midfield for two years in soccer, singles and doubles for three years in tennis, and three years in track and field.
Danny went on to play volleyball at El Camino College where was the starting setter for the Warriors and earned 1st team all-conference honors in 2009 and 2nd team in 2008. Danny transferred to Cal State Northridge, where he finished out his career under head coach Jeff Campbell.
